It started out with a hanger and ended up with a bed... =)

I should be working on the last floors in my house.. But I don't want to =) I just want to be done and start decorating... But I will start, soon ;)
Last week I started making hangers for the wardrobe, that I haven't built yet.... I thought it was a lot harder than it looks =) I looked at this tutorial: http://www.polyvore.com/diy_mini_clothes_hanger_with/set?id=81396077 Mine are not this beautiful..
I also did a a very odd looking dress, the waist is VERY thin and the whole dress is to small.. it just shrunk after I was done stitching..  I most have forgotten the seam allowance... I will try to make a better dress later.
I used one of my hangers to this dress =) I think I would like lots of cloths hanging in my wardrobe (that I haven't built yet...)

I was a bit disappointed with the result, so I started making a bag instead =) Out of binder clips =) I guess all mini-makers knows about this, but if you haven't heard of it, check this out:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X2zOmuwW-k
I should have bought regular ones with silver on top. But I found these cute and cheep coloured ones.. but they didn't really fit being bags, because of the coloured top... but they are OK, but very small =)
This is my first one =)
I just realized I'm not done, I haven't done the handle yet =) But like always, I stopped when I didn't get a 100% happy with the result... But it might look better if I actually finish it ;)

But I started sewing again instead after I saw this tutorial: http://amberatti.blogspot.se/2013/08/112-scale-camisole-tutorial.html
This might be a bit too old fashion for my house, but I think it can work in a modern house too =) This is my first try:

Front
Back
I don't know if I should add buttons, we will see =)
I might just do some more =) It was fun, and it was a good pattern (I had to draw it by hand looking at the screen, because my printer wont work, but I think the pattern turned out well)

And as I didn't have enough to do, I started on a bed today ;)
I'm very insecure when it comes to wood, I don't have a great working place for it (I had to saw this pieces on my balcony) and I'm not that good with wood. But it will be fun trying =)

This might not look like a bed ;) But I made this construction just to let the glue dry in the right angle =)
Hopefully I will be able to continue with this tomorrow =)
It's both hard and fun =)

Like always I'm working on several things and I have a thousand ideas and I don't know were to begin =) But I hope it will result in one great house one day ;)

Take care

My second winnings this summer

Like I said, I did win second price in Irinas giveaway =)
Here is a picture of the winnings:

A table and a plate of cheese and two candles =)
I'm thinking of painting the table in another colour, hope Irina thinks that's OK =) I haven't decided were to put it yet, as you know I'm not finished with my house, so I haven't got the time to think about how to furnish it yet..
And Yes, I did get something extra too! A Christmas present!! That's so exiting! And I was so happy, and I did wait like half a day before I opened it ;) Yes, I could not wait.. Lucky for me the note said I could open it when ever I wanted, I really tried waiting until Christmas, but... it didn't go that well... ;)

This is what I got in the secret present =) I love it!! Such great things. I believe Irina made them herself?! I think that mirror is wonderful, and a great idea, to use (I think it is) punchies as a frame! And for the candle too. I just love home-made things. Its very personal and fun to see what others do =)

I feel SOOOOO greatful to have won these lovely things and I like to say a big Thank you to Irina again =)
And I hope all of you will go and check out her blog right now =) among other things you can find a great tutorial on how to make that candlestick.

Good night and take care =)

A little trade

I just realized I never showed you what I got in the little trade I made with Ulrika. I did show you the mice I gave her, but the furniture I got never made it to the blog =)

The chairs on the left did not come with the trade, I bought those at panduro. (they were charms, but I cut of the ring on the top) They are a bit to big, but I might have a place for them in a house later.

I thought I could build a log cabin or something for these furniture. They are 1:144 scale. And I would like to have a small log cabin =) I always liked those.. You who have followed me since my last blog at hannahsminiatyrer.blogg.se know I did do a larger log cabin before, or started and never finished... maybe I can finish a small one before I get on with the bigger one.. we will have to wait and see ;)
I did transfer all my old posts to this blog, so you can check out the log cabin here: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/search/label/Log%20cabin

Now its way past my bedtime, again.. So I'll see you later (or earlier another day I hope)
Take care

Winnings and new stuff

I forgot to tell you in my last post that I was the very luck winner of two contests/giveaways this summer! First I won a TV from skalaminimal on FB and then second price in Narina's giveaway.

Here's a picture of the TV, in the box, I will place it in my house later =)
I will take a picture of my other price when it arrives =)

I have had some sleepless nights, I have too many ideas I could not sleep, but I got to do some of it last week =) But I'm busy with my daughter and cant spend all day mini-making ;) But its fun being a full-time mum too, but sometime I miss making miniatures all day and night and when ever I want.. Maybe my daughter will be making miniatures with me some day =)

Last week I was so eager to work with my clay again =) And my daughter and husband most have felt it, because I got 3 hours on one day to my clay =) (and I still got to see my lovely grandmother, aunt, mother and brother =) My brother might be the man to thank for this too, because he played so much with my daughter for two days in a row, so that she just fell asleep when we got home =) )
You know the saying: less is more, that is so not true when it comes to "clay-time" ;) I could have worked day and night, I'm just so inspired right now!!
Anna made some Blythe-dolls and just like her, I would love a Blythe, but they are so expensive.. But I never thought of making my own in miniature before Anna made one, then I just "had" to make one too =)
This is my first try. I thought I could make the legs movable.. I haven't finished this one yet... I went nuts and made a few more instead ;)
They are all quite different from each other =) And I don't know if anyone will ever look like a real Blythe..

I have been working on them for several days now, and I'm still not done, but some are almost done. I don't think any of them really looks like a real Blythe =( But they look like dolls, and I will have to be happy with that, and since I LOVE dolls I might just keep all of them ;) (They might fit in my future toy store, if I don't use them all in my house =)
And I tried making a baby doll too..  but I'm not really satisfied with my results..

I don't like doing eyes.. Why do we have to have 2 eyes, and why do the look so similar?! ;) I hate doing two of some thing..
I saw this tutorial and thought I could do some eyes for my needlefelted animals, but as I said, I don't like doing eyes.. so I haven't started on them yet ;)
But I did give my dolls some simple clay eyes, I think they turned out OK.

Last week when I started working on the hair I remembered how hard it is to wig a doll, I just can't get it right.. I tried with some fake hair, some plastic hair that wouldn't bend that easily.. I just got out of self confidence and patient, and the dolls were out of scale and proportions..
My first "hair" (on these dolls that is, I have done a few dolls with hair before too =) Like these: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2013/02/ej-klara-dockor.html but they are bigger and a bit easier, but though enough for me ;) )
At the back she looks like a birds nest or some thing, not pretty at all! Don't know if I can fix this later?!

And to dress these dolls... don't get me started on that ;) I just gave up this for awhile, but then I tried making dresses from clay and I did do one doll with both clay dress and hair, completely made of clay:

But today I remembered that I got a "yarn" of linen. I got it from a plumber that thought it would be perfect for my mini-making and he was right =) This was so much easier to work with, and I got my patient back =) I tried some doll hair from Panduro too, looks like yarn.
My daughter woke up before I got the time to give them a haircut ;)
But this is what I got so far, I will keep working on these dolls later, but like I said yesterday, I'm working on some secrets for the swap too =) But today I wanted a change and worked on the dolls and finished my jewellery box =)
yes, the box is finally done =)
This box can be open, didn't take any pictures of that.. you just have to trust me on that ;)

Finally this long post has come to an end... =) I thought I wasn't going to write as much today... but I guess "I'm a writer" I just cant help myself.. writing is my thing ;)

Take care

More carpets!

Oh no, I found more free patterns for carpets.... ;) I love carpets (in miniature, in "real life" I do think they are an awful lot of extra work vacuuming....)
It looks like I have to do more carpets... Just look at this wonderful patterns: http://tanjal.dk/pages/dukkehuse-i-1-til-12/diygF8r-det-selv/broderede-tE6pper.php The one with the figures are my favourite! I have to do that one later. I dont want to start a new carpet while I'm still working on one, I
think the first one just will be lying and never finished, so I have come up with this "rule" for my self =)
I was planing to do the carpet on the front of my new book too, and then I really wanted to design a carpet of my own too... There will be lots of carpets in my future, I hope =) But I made the first one in 6 month, and this second one is bigger (but I do half stitches, not cross stitches as the first one) but I guess it will take a couple of more months.. So I might do 2 carpets a year, not much, but I see it as a relaxing activity. And I hope I get a bit faster as the years go ;)

Anyway, I'm working on some pieces for a swap right now. I love swaps =) Its so exiting! But I always wonder if my things are good enough.. and I think its hard to value my own things.. I hope the receivers will be happy for my things =) I will show you the things later, but I wont show it right now.. But I can give you a hint that it will be a lot of clay work this time =) And I have done one thing I have been wanting to do for awhile now, so I had to make a couple things for myself too ;) (as always)

Hope to show you some new pictures next time =)
Take care

Back from some vacations

So I'm back from a little vacation. =) I thought I was going to miss the work on my house when we were gone, but I think I needed a break. I was working on the floors and they did NOT turn out the way I wanted =( Don't know if I should do it all over again, or just leave it as it is.. (I guess it's quite hard to remove now I have glued it straight on to the floor... and painted it white.)

Anyway I did bring my carpet on the vacation (we visited my mother-in-law in south Sweden and attended a wedding in a different part of Sweden, we did quite a lot of travelling on a short time period, but we had a great time =) ) and I've been working on the carpet every now and then =) I think it's very soothing and fun =)
This is were I'm at right now, or.. I did do a few more stitches since I took the picture.. ;)

Last week we got back for the vacation, but I didn't get back on my miniature making until today =) (Except for the carpet) Like I said before, I got some lovely miniature shells, I thought I could do a nice jewellery box with shells on. Those shells are beautiful in them self, so I reckon I didn't need to do mush with them.. but I think I manage to make them look less beautiful then they really are.. um.. Hope it looks better when I'm finished.. I don't know how to decorate the box and make it look as wonderful as the shells deserve... This is what I got so far:
But this is just the beginning, I haven't even started on the lid yet =) I think it looks a bit empty.. It might need some more decorations.. I have to sleep on that =)
I did use this too, I believe its used to make flowers?! Nice and shiny anyway =) Like pearl I thought =)

At last I would like to show what I found in the grocery store =) I love mushrooms and I wanted some for dinner and found a great wooden box full of them for 15kr. I thought this box would be great building material =) I was so eager I already started taking the box apart when I took the photograph =) Don't know what to make of it, but I guess it might come handy one day =)

Hope to  work a bit more on my jewellery box tomorrow, but now I say good night for now =)
Take care
